L'Enfant Lyonnais

There is too much to say

…about my first two days here.  I have done one million things and met a million people.  Everyone is really nice, friendly, and just as bad at French as I am.

Yesterday I went to an open air market, wandered around the city, and then we went to dinner as a group. It was awesome food and speaking in French the entire time was interesting.  I think I’m beginning to like red wine.

Last night was The Festival of Music, which basically just meant that everyone was out partying and there were random bands playing on the street.  We wandered around after dinner and ended up marching down the street behind a percussion marching band.  It was great.

We met some crazy french teenagers down by the river and they told us about living in the suburbs in Lyon and walking everywhere and lots of other stuff.  Most of the people are really friendly here.  People think I am german when they see me, which is good, because they don’t like Americans as much.

As For today, I had my first class and then wandered around Lyon and shoppped.  Class was easy, no homework! I went to the supermarket and got some things I needed and then me and my friend Katie and her roomate got lunch at a cafe, which was great. Who knows where or with who dinner will be, I’m sure it will be great though.

I almost forgot.  The hotel is an an awesome location.  Right in the center of the city, on a hill so you can see everything.  The picture in the last post is pretty much the view from my window, but there are a few trees in the way.  Anyway, I’ve got to go find something to eat. I’m hungry.

AND, my roomate Colin is great. He made me breakfast this morning. Eggs and ham, and I made toast, with tea.  They have delicious cheap fruit here too!
